An evening of food and wine is always a good idea! And when it’s one with really incredible wines that most of us aren’t drinking every day, shared with new friends over food that has been carefully prepared and presented it’s a night to remember!
I recently experienced such a night. Tasting and Dining London is a relatively new social group with a focus on decadent indulgence into all that is gourmet. They arrange dinners and a variety of fun events which are a fantastic way of meeting new people in the comfort and safety of a fabulously crafted evening.
Guillaume Raffy and Jibrane Dahha are the gastronomic geniuses behind the group which developed from the shared passion of two friends for everything involving inspired food, the best wine and the cultivation of camaraderie.
The night I joined them, we tasted (and drank!) over 10 different wines – from sparkling to dry to sweet! Check out the photos of all the bottles on my Wine Passionista page on Facebook. The venue was a spacious loft near London Bridge, the Chef was from a renowned gastropub in Chiswick and the wines were a fine and varied array of interesting choices, including a 1999 Chateau Brane-Cantenac from Margaux and a magnum of Sarget de Gruaud-Larose 1997.
I highly recommend you join them for an upcoming event soon! Check them out on Facebook and see what they’ve got on the calendar this month.
P.S. For those of you outside of London, have you been to similar epicurious evenings in your area? What has been your experience? I look forward to hearing all about it!
There’s always time for wine!
