I wanted to go ahead and share this one as well because I had it a few days ago during snowmageddon (as folks around here are calling the multiple snow storms that dumped several feet of the white stuff on us).
Vineyard: Diablo Creek
Wine: Sauvignon Blanc
Vintage: 2008
Appellation: California
Price: $7.13
Notes: Not bad! Lots of flavor for a Sauvignon Blanc. Almost more like a Chardonnay than an SB except lighter, of course, and not as viscous. For me, this wine opened with pineapple and guava flavors and a green apple finish then settled into a nice honey/lemon in the middle palate that lingered to a nice finish with hints of spice. Yes, Safeway did OK on this one in my opinion. I understand they own this brand.
Important: I am not a professional sommelier or wine connoissuer. I have taste buds, however, and know what I like. Please do not consider my thoughts to be an endorsement or diminution of any particular wine. You should always judge for yourself as likes, dislikes, and taste are very subjective.
