Monday morning we had the pleasure to welcome Jean-Philippe and Stephanie Bourgeois for a tasting of both Château La Trochoire and Château du Petit Thouars wines.
With their company, http://www.bourgeoiswines.com/about.htm , Jean-Philippe and Stephanie put the focus on the small estates that are, in their own words, “The heart and soul” of French winemaking.

the wine tasting in full swing
We started with three excellent chenins from La Trochoire. Edouard de La Palme, owner of La Trochoire, had brought 2 dry whites, from 2004 and 2007 and a tender – dry one from 2005.
We then followed with Château du Petit Thouars crémants and six reds from our Sélection and Réserve lines. It’s always a pleasure to witness cabernet franc wines express their full potential during a tasting as it was the case on that occasion, with the Selection 2007, the Reserve 2003, 2005 and 2006 particularly standing out!
